My Top 3 DepicT Movies

After looking through the DepicT website and watching many of the 90 second movies on there I have decided on my top 3.

Webbed :

The first short film I picked was Webbed, directed by Nick Rowell and Gabriel Farnese. The reason I chose this was not only is it beautifully created but it portrays a fantastic story. It is one of the most simple short films on the website but has such a fantastic narrative. The child actor in it does a great job as he shows real emotion without  the need of dialogue. The camera shots are not complicated at all but does all it needs to in capturing everything.

Nati :

The second short film I chose is Nati directed by Daniel Chisholm. This is a story about a man called Nati who is 91 and lives a healthy life by tending to his vegetables and flowers. This 90 second film has a perfect balance between dialogue and picture which allows the viewer to be immersed and educated about Nati. In a society that is constantly on the move and stressed, Chilsolm has brought everything back to basics and with the help of Nati's stories has proved just how simple life can be.

No Words :

My third and final pick is No Words created by Kike Arroyo. This is one of the most emotional 90 second films I have ever seen. It is truly incredible how Arroyo can create such emotion with no dialogue and minimal camera shots. The lighting in this is beautiful and really does make the film what is is. The low key lighting allows it to have a dark feeling and creates the loneliness that the woman in the film feels. It really is just a fantastically created short film.
