After looking at Phil Parker's story types I could see that my original story treatment links to, The Unrecognised Virtue. This is because the Si falls in love with someone else's world and wants to help them out after being unloved since going into prison but his daughter Emily seems to be beyond help and with no leeway to make mistakes it's going to be tough for Si to regain his daughter as she is addicted to drugs and lacks trust in her dad. She's with an abusive boyfriend but the Si can't touch him otherwise he will be straight back in prison. Si tries to solve the problem and she eventually gives in and his real virtue is finally recognised.
My film fits into Robert McKee's category of the redemption plot as my protagonist comes out of prison and regains his daughter by fighting the drug world and sends some nasty guys down to prison after ruining his daughters and many others lives.
